Tuesdays, November 12-26, 12:30-3:00 pm (3-week Series)

In this class with Katie Hutter, the students will first sketch, then paint the portrait of their choosing, learning the aspect rations, proportions, and general layout of the face. Learn how to paint a portrait using oil paints, learn the proportions of the face, and how to mix the flesh tones. An emphasis will be placed on painting the eyes as the “mirror to the soul”. Prime Members free, Standard Members $45.

The materials required will be painting materials for oil: Warm and cool primaries, black, white, Gamsol, Linseed oil, canvas, a variety of paint brushes including flats, rounds and filberts. palette knives, lidded jar for the Gamsol, and an 11 x 14 canvas, and a reference photo of a person that they wish to paint.The student needs to have at least a basic understanding of the use of their preferred materials. For further information on materials or the class, contact Katie Hutter. Students are to bring reference photo(s) of their choosing.

No-show Fee: Prime members will incur a $30 no-show fee for any uncancelled registrations in addition to the class’s materials fee.
