Volunteering FAQs

VOLUNTEER FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. How do I sign up to volunteer?

Click Contact Us About Volunteering to complete an online volunteer application. This will take you to a web form page. Complete each field and then click the ‘Submit’ button. An email is generated to confirm the receipt of your application and within 24-48 hours, The Center Volunteer Coordinator will contact you, either by phone or email, to provide you with further information and to schedule a meeting to review your application and interests.

2. Do I have to be a member of The Center?

No. Many of our volunteers are not members.

3. Are my volunteer hours logged (tracked)?

Yes! The Center can secure grants due to the service hours contributed by our volunteers.  Our volunteer program and the hours that each of our volunteers contributes display to our donors and supporters how much The Center supports our community.  Once your service begins, you will learn how to log (track) your hours from the Volunteer Coordinator.

4.  At what age may I begin volunteering?

The minimum age to volunteer at The Center is 14 years of age, but a parent or guardian must be present at all times.  Anyone who is 18+ can volunteer without a parent. However, anyone under the age of 18 must have a minor consent form signed by a parent or legal guardian and returned to the Volunteer Coordinator prior to beginning volunteer service.

5.  Can I complete court-appointed community service hours at The Center?

The Center does NOT accept court ordered community service.
