This is a 5 class series.

Certain diet patterns seem to have a major effect in helping people diagnosed with cancer to live longer, healthier lives. According to the National Cancer Institute, 90% or more of cancer cases stem from environmental and lifestyle factors and are potentially preventable. In this class you will learn about food choices that can help reduce your risk of developing cancer as well as prevent a recurrence. The intended audience for this program is cancer survivors and their family and friends as well as those looking to prevent the disease. There is a $20 material fee, that covers ingredients for food samples of all 5 classes.

Class topics include:

  1. Introduction to nutrition's role and cancer
  2. The role of fat and cancer
  3. What's up with genetics?
  4. Making informed choices going forward
  5. Potluck

These classes are not intended for individuals currently going through cancer treatment.  Please contact the instructor, Mary (434-953-9999) , once you register for this program.
