Opening to Grief
Next session: Monday, April 22, 2024 | 2:00pm-3:00pm

Details:

Mondays,  April 8, 22, May 13, June 10, 24, July 8 (6-part series)

Join others in a safe space where you can remember a person, a pet, a marriage, a job, or any other loss you may have experienced in your life. Despite what our culture teaches us, grief is not something that goes away over time. We grow around our grief. Grief Educator and facilitator, Laura Markey Monroe will lead those wanting to find a space to remember what they have lost. Each week's meeting will include readings on grief and provide an open environment for sharing. It is also acceptable to simply listen in that space. Your grief journey is your own and how you approach it is up to you. Writing prompts will be offered as suggestions for sharing.  A notebook or journal is recommended.

Bio: Since Laura beat her stage III cancer in 2012, she has dedicated her life to helping others in a myriad of ways. She is a seasoned Certified Senior Advisor (Specialist in Aging), A Certified Grief Educator, and a Certified End of Life Doula. She is also a national speaker on grief.  She is a volunteer with Hospice of the Piedmont and is passionate about changing the narrative to normalize conversations on grief and dying.

This series is in partnership with Hill and Wood.
