Tai Chi - Afternoon
Next session: Monday, June 9, 2025 | 3:30pm-4:30pm

Details:

Mondays and Thursdays | 3:30–4:30 pm

T’ai Chi Ch’uan is an internal martial art that combines health benefits with self-defense applications. When you practice T'ai Chi's gentle, low-impact movements, you are strengthening your organs, opening your joints, reducing stress, improving your balance and reflexes, calming your mind, smoothing the flow of chi along your body’s meridians, and learning to move without tension. By learning these ancient techniques, you become better prepared to meet whatever you encounter in life. This class, taught by certified Instructors from the Charlottesville T’ai Chi Center, includes gentle stretching movements, standing meditation (Ch’i Kung), and the Six Steps to Compassion T'ai Chi form. Participants can begin at any level (and may be seated); no experience necessary. T'ai Chi principles and topics are discussed and questions are welcome. Enjoy the camaraderie of your fellow students and realize the healing benefits of T’ai Chi practice at this twice-weekly class offering. For Center members.
