Painting Landscapes

Details:
Learn the important elements of an effective landscape using balanced compositional elements and colors. Instructor Katie Hutter will help intermediate and advanced painters learn more about temperatures and tonal values, as well as how to effectively use light in landscapes to tell the best story. Bring your own reference images or choose from a few provided ones.

$15 materials fee due to instructor at first class.
Required Materials:
- Paint of your choice (acrylic, oil, pastel, gouache, watercolor) in the following recommended colors:
- lemon yellow
- cad yellow
- quinacridone red/permanent red rose
- cad red
- cerulean blue
- ultramarine blue
- black
- white
- yellow ochre
- burnt sienna
- burnt umber
- Canvases or 140 lb paper
- Palette paper
- Brushes
- Palette knife for mixing paints
- Gamsol odorless thinner (IF using oil)
- "Stays wet palette" and Micro mister (IF using water based paints)
