Etching (Intaglio)

Etching (Intaglio)
Next session: Monday, November 17, 2025 | 10:00am-12:00pm

Details:

This series will introduce the process of etching using plexiglass. The history of Intaglio will be reviewed using works of the Old Masters. You will also learn the technique of cross hatching and hatching to create value. You will begin by drawing an image. That image will then be put under a plexiglass plate, and you will use etching tools to start the engraving process. The plexiglass plate will then be inked and printed using an intaglio printing press. There is a $50 material fee for tools, plexiglass, ink and paper, due to the instructor at the first class.
