Trailblazing Women Artists: 1800s–1900s
Next session: Wednesday, August 6, 2025 | 3:00pm-5:30pm

Details:

Learn about the remarkable stories of women like: Lucie Welch, Rosa Bonheur, Mary Cassatt, and Cecilia Beaux who defied societal expectations to make their mark on the art world. In this program, you will explore their lives, artistic techniques, and lasting legacies of pioneering female artists from the 19th and early 20th centuries—a time when women couldn’t vote, faced limited opportunities, and often struggled for recognition. Through discussions and hands-on learning, you will gain insight into how these artists not only challenged the norms of their time but also shaped the course of modern art in profoundly different ways from male artists of their time. This class is for advanced-beginners and up.  There is a $20 materials fee due to the instructor on the first day of class.  Katie will be providing printouts for guidance.

Required materials:
