Thursdays, October 3-31, 3:30-6:00 pm (5-week series)

Learn the techniques of wet on wet, wet on dry, and dry on dry. Learn how to create the following styles: transparent washes, detailed landscape and still life, ocean, rivers, people in the distance, birds, and much more with Joanne Coleman. Center Members Only. Prime Members Free, Standard Members $55. See required material list below.

Material Required List:

  1. Watercolor paper, 140 pound, Cold pressed. Suggest either of the following brands: Arches, Canson, Fabriano or similar quality. Any size that you prefer. If not in a block, remember to bring artist tape and a board for your paper.
  2. Winsor Newton or their student grade Cotman, Daniel Smith, Holbein or similar quality.
  3. Water container for fresh water, may use several at the same time.
  4. Pallet -your preference.
  5. Winsor Newton masking fluid or similar quality
  6. Small spray bottle of alcohol
  7. Sall spray bottle for plain water
  8. Kosher salt or sea salt or similar size salt granules
  9. Old plastic card for creating texture
  10. Brusho- if you want , not mandatory. For more information on colors see a you tube video or see amazon.
  11. Watercolor brushes-synthetic or synthetic squirrel or sable if affordable. Artegria has a good set of 10 pressures on Amazon. Be sure to have a 1 or 2 inch flat brush for washes.
  12. Bring photos or live object that wish to paint.
  13. Watercolor pens or pencils , if you have them, not mandatory
  14. papertowels

Due to the need to purchase supplies in advance, cancellations with fewer than 7 days' notice will incur the materials fee. No-show Fee: Prime members will incur a $30 no-show fee for any uncancelled registrations in addition to the class’s materials fee.
