Have you heard of The Warm Heart of Africa? This nickname was given to the country of Malawi. It is the home to many languages, types of music, landscapes and hospitable people. In 2009, award-winning composer and fiddler/violinist Andrew Finn Magill spent a year in Malawi working with Peter Mawanga, one of Malawi's most preeminent musicians and cultural ambassadors. The result was the 2010 concept album for charity, Mau a Malawi: Stories of AIDS. After thirteen years, Magill is renewing the project with some of those very same Malawian colleagues for a rare U.S. tour. Tickets are $15 per person.
Open to all.
