Arranging Flowers with Wayflowering Flower Farm
Tuesday, June 4, 2024 | 2:00pm-4:00pm

Details:

Join Christine Mahoney, Founder of Wayflowering Flower Farm for a talk and workshop about growing and arranging regenerative, organic flowers.  Wayflowering is a regenerative social enterprise creating careers for refugees. Regenerative farming is an approach to agriculture that works to restore the natural health of the soil. By composting, adding organic matter, planting perennial crops, cover cropping, and minimizing soil disruption, we can rebuild biodiversity and sequesters significant amounts of carbon, combatting climate change. We are pesticide and herbicide free. We provide a local alternative to industrial cut flowers which have heavy carbon footprints and questionable labor practices.  Our flower fields support 60 bee hives on the farm, a number of local cooperative hives and countless wild pollinators.  During the workshop, participants will learn how to arrange their own unique and beautiful creations with flowers and greenergy from Wayflowering Flower Farm. Bring a vase to keep your beautiful bouquet hydrated (large Mason jar size).
