Explore Jefferson’s retreat house and learn about the lives and experiences of those who lived in the plantation’s enslaved community. You’ll tour the award-winning, thought-provoking, and meticulous historical restorations, both inside and outside the walls of Jefferson’s house. This trip also includes a docent-led house tour to provide deeper knowledge about Thomas Jefferson and the free and enslaved people who formed the community at Poplar Forest. Activity Level - Moderate. Open to all
