Whether it is the loss of a loved one, the loss of your home of 40 years, the loss of mobility due to significant health issues, or trying to support someone who is going through their own grieving process, the road of grief is difficult to navigate. Certified Grief Educator Laura Monroe is committed to offering support and ideas. She will be debunking myths about the grieving process which may allow for better understanding and acceptance of your own journey. Understanding the reality of how grief impacts our lives is important knowledge in creating long-term meaningful relationships with ourselves and others we love.

Brief Instructor Bio: Since Laura beat her stage III cancer in 2012, she has dedicated her life to working with Seniors in different Senior Communities and Networks in Charlottesville.  She is a seasoned Certified Senior Advisor (Specialist in Aging), A Certified Grief Educator, and a Certified End of Life Doula. She is a volunteer with Hospice of the Piedmont and is passionate about changing the narrative to normalize conversations on grief and dying.
