Civil War Round Tables are a valuable source in preserving our nation's history. They are independent organizations that share a common interest in studying the American Civil War. There are hundreds of these throughout the U.S. and some abroad. The Civil War Round Table of Charottesville meets the 2nd Tuesday at 6:30 pm at The Center. November 8 meeting
The speaker will be Mr. Robert M. "Bert" Dunkerly. He will present The Fall of Richmond, one of the most famous and momentous events of Richmond’s history, that occurred on April 23, 1865. It also was one of the most shrouded events in myth and misconception.
Bert is a historian, an award-winning author, and person who is actively involved in historic preservation and research. He has worked at 9 historic sites, written 11 Civil War books and published more than 20 articles. He is a Park Ranger at the Richmond National Battlefield Park.
