Join us to go inside Thomas Jefferson’s private retreat, Poplar Forest, located in Lynchburg. Jefferson’s retreat home has been meticulously and historically restored. Our docent guided tour will give an in-depth look at the main level of this house and we will learn about its restoration and the daily life of Jefferson. Your tour of Poplar Forest is certain to provide you with new insights on architecture, 19th century culture – including an understanding of the enslaved community – and the unique accomplishments of one of our countries most influential citizens. We will stop prior to the tour at The Neighbors Place for lunch at your cost.. Activity Level - Moderate. Open to all
