Come and learn the joys of painting with this classic and timeless medium: oil paints! We will learn how to play with the paint to create form, shapes, shadows, lighting effects, and we will also basic color mixing. Learning how to use the tools of the trade will also be covered: brushes, oil, mediums, thinner, canvas, paper, marking tools, palette knives, etc. Bring your own oil paints and materials, or you can order them from Katie in advance. This is a follow up of how oils are used, the various aspects of the tools for the medium, and how to play with the paint. An understanding of form, color, shapes, light, shadows and the joy of mixing colors will be shared. The students will be given various tasks to perform with the medium, and demonstrations will be given.
