Join us for our summer Thurdsays Around 5 music series!

Thursdays Around 5 is The Center at Belvedere’s own answer to Charlottesville’s Fridays After Five. These performances seek to showcase area musicians and provide another opportunity for the Charlottesville music-loving community to hear some favorite bands or be introduced to new ones. Events will be held outside weather permitting so please bring a lawn chair. (In case of inclement weather, the event will be held in the auditorum). Free and open to all.

Thursday, June 25 - Michael Clem
For over 30 years, Michael Clem has been playing bass, singing, and writing songs for the national touring act he co-founded, Eddie from Ohio. Since relocating to Charlottesville, he’s established quite a foothold in the musical scene.

Thursday, July 23 - Two Wishes Trio
Come and enjoy the musical trio of Joy Kuhar, Dan Sebring, and Mike D'Antoni. Mike, a full-time professional musician, hails from New Orleans and grew up playing with many jazz and blues greats. He also leads the Still Sharp Singers at The Center! Joy, Southern born, sings her own style to classic favorites and adds tight harmony to the mix. Dan Sebring, professional guitar, mandolin, fiddle, and bass man who adds 3 part harmonies and is our "glue"! Boston Native, but C-vill is home. The “2 Wishes Trio” has a blast on stage, and it’s infectious. Sit back and enjoy their beautiful harmonies, serious guitar playing, and bad jokes!

Thursday, August 27 - Don't Look Up
When Dave Sherman (guitar/vocals) was asked what kind of music Don't Look Up plays he said "American roots music specializing in the blues".  Blues is where it all started and then branched out from there.  We've all been playing some form of roots music for over 50 years and Don't Look Up is a culmination of all those years in the music business. When asked how they got started, Andy Burdetsky (bass/vocals) said, "Dave and I, old friends from the DC area, reunited after Dave moved to  Staunton back in October of '21.  I invited Dave to come to a 'COVID Driveway Jam' at Rob Martin's (guitar/vocals) place.  We clicked, and talked about starting a new band. So, we asked Lance Foster (drums/vocals) to join in and the rest is history."

Open to all.
