Details:
In the past three years, the developments in the field of humanoid robots have been astounding. These machines are designed with human-like bodies so they can use our tools, climb our stairs, and work safely alongside us. By combining advanced AI with agile hardware, they are now performing the "3 D's"—tasks that are too dull, dirty, or dangerous for people. This talk explores how this robotic revolution may change the way we live and work forever.
Bruce Chase has a Ph.D. in chemical physics from Princeton University. He spent 34 years in the Central Research department of DuPont and served as Chair of the DuPont Fellows for his last four years. He spent the last ten years in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Delaware, and is now Research Professor Emeritus. His research has involved the use of lasers to probe the structure of high strength fibers.
