March 24 - The UN’s Humanitarian System - A Personal Overview

Mark Slezak will share reflections spanning his 25-year career in international disaster response.  He will share stories from recent UN work in Madagascar, Mozambique and Eswatini. After a brief presentation, he will interact with participants and answer questions about his experience.

Mark Slezak is a humanitarian professional working at the intersection of data, design and response systems. He has extensive operations experience in conflict and natural disaster environments. Slezak  brings the good parts of the data revolution to the humanitarian system.

U.S. immigration has changed significantly during 2025 and has continued to evolve during 2026.  Join this discussion which provides an overview of U.S. Immigration, explores some areas where we have recently fallen short, describes which immigrants are currently at risk, and explains how U.S. policies and procedures are affecting communities nationwide.
