Wednesday, October 1, 2025 | 3:00pm-4:00pm
Details:
Wednesdays, October 1-November 19, 3:00-4:00 pm
When someone loses a loved one, they shouldn't have to face it alone. Drop in any or all of the eight week sessions to find support, share stories, and learn ways to cope. Each participant will receive a book to guide weekly discussions. This group is free and open to all who have experienced the death of a loved one. Each week the facilitator, Katherine Jackson will share a touchstone of grief (outlined in the book) and invite discussion, in addition to inviting participants to share aspects of grief they are navigating.
Katherine Jackson earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and a Master of Divinity Degree in Theology Studies from Virginia Union University.
After completing internships and residency training in Chaplaincy at the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center, she served as a hospice chaplain, a bereavement coordinator, and grief counselor. Katherine is certified as a grief counselor by the American Academy of Grief Counseling, which is a division of the American Institute of Healthcare Professionals, Inc. She is an ordained Baptist minister in good standing, who often provides individual counseling as well as group grief counseling.
