Since 1806, these peaceful yet hauntingly beautiful grounds have watched over generations—both the famed and the forgotten—resting under centuries-old trees that blaze with fall color. From its hilltop, you’ll see panoramic views of the inner city stretching toward the shadowy Blue Ridge Mountains.
As the crisp air shares the 425 heirloom rose varieties—the largest public collection in Virginia—listen closely. The rustle of leaves might be the wind… or perhaps the whispers of stories long untold. Monuments, worn by time, stand like silent sentinels, each with a tale waiting to be discovered.
