The remarkable women of the storied Six Triple Eight—the U.S. Army’s 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion—shattered barriers and played a pivotal role in ensuring that mail reached American troops overseas during WWII. Using the accomplishments of this historic unit and the challenges they faced when they returned home as a starting point, guest speaker Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Temi Anderson will talk about the contributions that anyone who answers the call of public service can make.

About the Speaker
At 17, Temi Anderson made a decision that changed the trajectory of her life—she chose to serve her country. She entered the United States Military Academy and, after graduating from West Point, began her career in military intelligence, gaining combat experience while serving in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom
After law school, Temi served as a criminal prosecutor, employment law counsel, and in-house counsel. She also served as the Chief of Administrative and Civil Law for the 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, and as the Chief of National Security Law for U.S. Army Pacific in Hawaii, where she had the opportunity to travel to Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Nepal and Australia for subject matter expert exchanges and multinational exercises. Temi went on to serve as an Associate Professor of Administrative and Civil Law and later as the Associate Dean of Students at the Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School. She retired from the Army as a lieutenant colonel in 2022.
Today Temi is an attorney with Bateman Law Group, where she focuses on litigation, federal employment law, data privacy, and complex investigations. Temi is also a lecturer at the University of Virginia School of Law. Her volunteer work in the Charlottesville community includes serving as co-vice president of the Lakeside Middle School PTO. She currently serves as an election official, election observer, family council PTO liaison, and board member for Albemarle Foundation for Education. In her free time, Temi enjoys traveling abroad with family and friends—anywhere warm. She also loves weightlifting, working out, playing the flute, and training for her black belt in karate with her family.
