Blue Zone Cooking

Blue Zone Cooking
Next session: Thursday, September 18, 2025 | 11:30am-1:00pm

Details:

Eating healthfully is a key component of aging well. In 2004, Dan Buettner explored regions of the world in which people seem to enjoy longer lifespans and health-spans and dubbed those communities the "Blue Zones".  The goal of this 6-week course is to provide an overview of the food of the Blue Zones, with meal planning guides and recipes.

The focus will be on understanding the fundamentals of the Blue Zone lifestyle and how to incorporate this plan into daily life.  Each session will consist of discussions along with viewing of short videos demonstrating cooking techniques and will include handouts with information, recipes, references and links to learn more.  Instructor, Merope Pavlides, will provide samples of Blue Zone dishes for participants to taste.

There is a $30 ingredient fee due to the instructor at the first class.
