Wednesday, March 19, 2025 | 6:00pm-7:45pm
Details:
Thomas Jefferson is known for excavating a Monacan Indian burial mound in Virginia, which is considered a significant event in American archaeology. Unlike the common practice of the time, Jefferson used a systematic approach to excavate the mound, documenting his findings and utilizing techniques like stratigraphic observation, which allowed him to study the layers of the burial site.
