Nov 5-19, Tuesdays, 3:00-4:00 pm

This 3-week series with Kalley Seitz, third-year graduate student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Longwood University, will help people with understanding the changes of the body and of mental health as we age. This class will focus on mindfulness, self-coping strategies, and how to utilize the tools you already have to reduce stress. Free and Open to Center Members.

Session One: Introduction to mental health concerns/issues, suicide awareness/prevention, mindfulness activity (ways to include mindfulness without even knowing it).

Session Two: Recap of last week (ways mindfulness helped, ways it didn’t), proven effects of mindfulness, continuation of mental health concerns.

Session Three: Changes happening in the body as we age, the ways that can affect one’s mental health, coping strategies, social support systems, etc. How to incorporate mindfulness in a physical way.
