Discrimination in health care is often the result of rigid institutional policies and unconscious bias based on negative stereotypes.   Dr. Tracy Downs, Chief Diversity and Community Engagement Officer at the University of Virginia will share insights and discuss steps being taken to identify and implement strategies to eliminate structural barriers to well-being created by historical and contemporary beliefs around race/ethnicity both within healthcare facilities around the country as well as at The University of Virginia.
