Advanced Oil Painting

 Fridays, September 5-October 31, 12:00-3:00 pm (7 week series)- this class will not meet September 19 or 26

This 7 week class is for serious oil painters wishing to improve their skills.  Class time will be spent on small studies, focusing on topics such as composition, value, color relationships and mark making.  In addition, we will explore several methods of painting such as Alla Prima, scumbling, glazing and impasto.  Paintings in progress or small older paintings may be finished in class towards the end.

Required Materials:

• Warm & Cool primary
• White oil paint
• Black oil paint
• OMS
• Linseed oil
• Brushes
• Palette knife
• Sketchbook (doesn't have to be a new one)
• Drawing pencils or vine charcoal
• Kneaded eraser
• Either two 9 x 12 canvas pads, 10 sheets each (canvas- Not canvas paper) OR twenty-five 8 x 10 canvas panels
