Emotional and Spiritual Wellness Day

Thursday, October 3

The emotional wellness dimension involves the ability to express feelings, adjust to emotional challenges, cope with life’s stressors, and enjoy life. These are attributes that can be encouraged through counseling, stress management, humor/laughter, and personal histories.

Spiritual wellness is a broad concept that represents one’s personal beliefs and values and involves having meaning, purpose, and a sense of balance and peace, as well as feeling connection to the larger world. Group and individual faith-based activities, personal meditation, mindful exercise (yoga, tai chi) and experiencing nature can create the opportunity for spiritual growth.
