English Country Dancing - Special Event

Sunday, July 14, 2019 | 2:00pm - 4:00pm

Details:

PLEASE NOTE THE TIME CHANGE FROM THAT PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED.

Think you've never heard of English Country Dancing? If you've watched Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, or Emma, you have definitely seen it! Far from a dusty old relic, English Country Dancing is energizing and fun. Movements are called in time to the music, so you needn't rely on memory alone to know what to do, and you don’t need a partner, either. Come hear the melodic music and learn a few steps—if you can walk and know your left from your right, you’re in business! If you have a good time (and we know you will) more detailed lessons will follow later in the summer.

Special Guests on July 14: Professional caller Tom Hinds will be at The Center along with local ECD and Center musicians who will play live music. In addition, other Charlottesville area ECD dancers will be in attendance to help newcomers learn the steps.

Open to all.

Location:
The Center

Fee: free
