Grand Gala 2018
Saturday, March 3, 2018 | 6:30pm - 11:30pm
The Grand Gala is the Senior Center’s annual destination-themed signature event. All proceeds benefit the mission critical operations of the Senior Center. Each year the Gala aims to be fun, dynamic, engaging, self-supporting, and enjoyable for people of all ages. This year’s event promises great food, entertaining games of chance, good conversation, and vital funds for the Center. Plus, the nationally-acclaimed band, Big Ray and the Kool Kats, will have you dancing the night away. Black Tie Optional—Safari Attire Welcome.
The "destination" theme not only makes for a great party, it also ties into the Center’s travel programs. Traveling with the Senior Center encourages participants to explore new places, expand horizons, and continue lifelong passions for learning. This year’s theme Safari Sunsets was inspired by the Center-organized voyage—visiting South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Botswana—planned for September 2018.
Here’s how you can join the fun.
Table for 10: Reserve your table and significantly support the Senior Center by becoming a sponsor today! Space is limited and table sponsorships are going fast. Sponsorships are still available at these levels: $10,000 Kalahari Desert; $7,500 Cape of Good Hope; $5,000 Lake Karibe; and $2,500 Zambezi River.
Individual Tickets: A limited number of tickets, $175 per person, will go on sale in January 2018. Watch the weekly e-newsletter, “It’s Happening at the Senior Center,” for ticket updates.
Promote your professional business or honor a personal connection while supporting the Senior Center’s mission of healthy aging by advertising in the Gala’s keepsake program. Program advertising space ranges from $150 for a ¼ page to $350 for a full page.

Be part of the action even if you can’t attend the event! Five fabulous African Safari and travel-themed gift packages will be raffled off at the Grand Gala on March 3rd. You do not have to be present to win. Raffle tickets may be purchased here. Watch the weekly e-newsletter, “It’s Happening at the Senior Center,” for raffle updates.
An event of this size is only possible thanks to the helping hands of many volunteers. There are volunteer jobs before, during, and after the Gala. Contact coordinator of volunteer resources Kimberly Haynes if you’d like to help.
