The Future of Native Americans - online
Wednesday, December 1, 2021 | 5:30pm - 7:00pm

Details:

This is the fourth program in our four-part Speaker Series, "Native Americans - We're Still Here"

Michael Wilson (Potawatomi Heritage) will moderate a panel of Native young adults as they describe their personal journeys growing up, attending post-secondary education, and moving into their chosen careers in a culture that has been impacted by constant attempts at erasure of Native Americans. These young adults will describe their personal stories of understanding and coming to grips with their own Native heritage in light of the dominant culture in the US and Virginia specifically.  Each of these young adults either are currently or have been students at University of Virginia and part of the Native American Student Union (NASU) on grounds.
