How the Bible Became Holy -The Western Bible is unique in world sacred literature as it is the work of dozens of writers rather than a single individual like other world sacred scriptures.  Folk stories were told for centuries before they were put into a single document.  And even after being declared sacred, many saw them as inspirational but not divinely inspired. Join in the discussion which traces some of the history behind what made the Bible and Western religion unique. Free and open to the community.

Friday April 12, 10:00 am – 11:30 am

How the Christian Middle Ages launched the Western Scientific Revolution - It can be argued that without the Church, we would all still be living in a rural environment, with Europe still isolated from the rest of the world.  Popular myth says that the Church thwarted science.  But the fight with Galileo was political, not theological.  How the Church first inspired science & discovery, and then helped it along is an untold story with proof to back it up.  Come learn how it all went down.  Free and open to the community.
