Gearharts Chocolate Tasting Event (ONLINE)
Wednesday, May 19, 2021 | 6:00pm - 7:00pm
Twenty years ago, Tim Gearhart started Gearharts Fine Chocolates, bringing a global vision of fine chocolate making, gleaned from years of experience in professional kitchens, to his Charlottesville shop. During this online tasting event a knowledgeable chocolatier will discuss ingredients, flavor profiles, techniques, the shop’s history, and share lots of interesting tidbits along the way. Choose your own beverage (chocolate goes with anything, doesn’t it?) and plan for a fun, relaxing, delectable experience. Class fee: $10.00 per person, plus $19.00 for the Gearharts 8 pc. signature chocolate assortment. ($29.00 total). Pick up your chocolate box at Gearharts or at The Center. Far flung friends welcome - contact Carolyn in advance re: additional shipping fees. Register here by Thursday, May 13th.
Zoom link will be sent to registrants closer to the event date.
About Tim Gearhart
After serving as a cook in the Marine Corps, Tim formally trained in pastry at The Culinary Institute of America. He then externed at Charlottesville's famed Keswick Hall before helping with the launch of Hamiltons’ at First & Main as the pastry chef. His culinary career then took him to places as far-flung as a dude ranch in Wyoming and a castle in southern England, with stops in fine-dining restaurants along the way. He finally returned to Charlottesville to open Gearharts Fine Chocolates, where he and his team have been crafting distinctive artisan chocolates enjoyed by customers near and far.
